How to make a diagonal plaid in your own colors (Gimp2.8)
Trying to help enxio27, I made this tutorial.
Since I didn't find a way to make a seamless pattern in Gimp 2.10,
I made this tutorial in Gimp 2.8.

This is what I found in Gimp version 2.10, for making a plaid pattern seamless.
After using this method to create the main plaid design.

Thank you Wallace. Now I also see it. I was searching for "make seamless" like in the 2.8 version

Just an FYI: I can confirm that you MUST use the smooth-palette plugin from GIMP 2.8 for this. The one from GIMP 2.10 will NOT work as advertised.

Although in Gimp 2.10 the result is not so good due to the Smooth-Pallet filter, the tutorial is very welcome, thank you Elle.

Krikor: You can download the 2.8 version of the Smooth-Palette plugin (below) and install it into your plugins directory at C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins . GIMP will find and use it first. Then you can use the above tutorial as written.

@Ella, what size did you choose for the initial image? I made mine too small, apparently, and when I use it to fill a 3600x3600 pixel page (my normal page size), the pattern all but disappears.

I think I will have to remove version 2.10 of this script before. I'll make a backup.
If it works it will be valid, since it does not help to have a script just for decoration.
enxio27 thx!

Script? Pretty sure it's only a tutorial. At least that's all it is on my system. I have both the 2.8 and 2.10 versions of the smooth-palette plugin in my GIMP setup. If you have the 2.8 one where it will take priority over the 2.10 version, it works just fine with both on the system. I keep most of my plugins (including the 2.10 version of smooth-palette) in my GIMP folder on my programs partition (D:\). The 2.8 version of the smooth-palette plugin is in my C:\ partition in the default GIMP plugins folder. My GIMP is set up to check the folder on C:\ first, then the one on D:\. That way, it will use the 2.8 version instead of the 2.10 version of smooth-palette.

A single initial image 256x256, generated three different plaids, one with 90º, another with 45º and the third with 45º seamless. I wanted to see the difference between them.
Elle and enxio Thx!
I used the smoth-pallet.exe version Gimp 2.8 provided in the previous post by enxio27, in a Gimp 2.10.Elle and enxio Thx!
