Whilst working with a decorative font I was disappointed by the results after applying the final 'Shine' effect with the 'Effects Only' plug-in. The detail (or twiddly-bits as my father would have said) in the edges was really quite poor.

I decided to add an option in Facemaker to increase the size of the character selection to apply the decorative face to. This does involve a trade off because the action of increasing the selection size does, in itself, reduce the amount of detail captured. It's certainly worth a try - with decorative fonts - bear in mind that different sized font file images will produce different outcomes. Test out a layer or two before working with a complete character set.
