Custom Font Paragrapher (as requested by Pat625)

This filter is a simple tool which can be used to place lines of custom font text into an image (page). Font size, line spacing and margins can be adjusted to your needs. Should the text exceed the size of the initial image, the height of the image will automatically be extended to fit the number of lines.

The user can then decide whether to keep the new image size or use undo and adjust the size of the text to maintain the original image size.

There is an option to add and colour a background layer using the current foreground or background colours but I presume that users will actually wish to add their own image background. The example below uses an image courtesy of LoggaWiggler on Pixabay.

The custom font text is output as separate layers so that they can be justified or have other filters, such as a drop shadow, applied.

I really feel stupid, but I can not get it to work!. If I only put a few words, it will run. If I type a paragraph, it will not. It stops, with errors about "string index"and group. I hope it is a simple mistake by me and not my Gimp or computer. Cannot get the Gimp versions to do many things on my computer right now.

Hi Pat!

How frustrating for you - all the anticipation and then nothing but error message torment.

I am still running Gimp 2.10.12 for my day-to-day Gimping (waiting for Gimp 2.10.18 to update and fix the bugs) - but I also tested out the plug-in on SamJ's Portable version (which actually shows up as 2.10.19 in the help>>about Gimp version number) and itruns without errors.

So it looks like a version problem.

Perhaps Issabella can confirm which version of Gimp she uses.

Pat, I'm sorry for your problems. I really cannot help much because I am using a very old version.
I never find time to switch to a new version because I always have problems afterward. I hate having problems with Gimp and losing the effects I like the most. I'm using Gimp 2.10.6 Portable 64bits from Samj.
Perhaps you keep previous versions and you can use it on them.
